retailsolutions GmbH is one of this year’s recipients of the “Welcome Star” award in Saarland. Under the patronage of Minister of Labour Magnus Jung, State Secretary Bettina Altesleben honoured companies that demonstrate particular commitment in attracting international skilled professionals and integrating them into their organisations in a sustainable way.
The award highlights the growing importance of international talent for both the economy and society. In the IT and consulting sector in particular, the demand for highly qualified specialists is high and can no longer be met solely through the domestic labour market. For retailsolutions, international recruitment is therefore a key part of its long-term strategy.
However, the focus is not only on hiring new talent, but also on ensuring sustainable integration. International employees are supported even before their first working day – for example through relocation services, assistance with administrative processes, and structured onboarding and integration measures. Language support and integration into international teams also play an important role in facilitating a successful start and enabling long-term perspectives.
A particular focus is placed on cooperation with universities in the region. International students are given early insight into the company through internships, work placements, and student assistant roles. Many of them subsequently choose to join the company in a permanent position – a success that underlines the effectiveness of this long-term approach.
retailsolutions intends to use the prize money to further expand its existing initiatives. Planned measures include additional support programmes to help international employees settle in Germany, as well as expanded integration and exchange formats within the company. In addition, part of the prize money will be donated to regional initiatives that support international students and skilled professionals in entering the labour market.
“This award confirms our approach of not only attracting international talent, but also providing a long-term professional and personal environment for them,” Daniel Bernard, HR. “For us, integration is not a one-off step, but a continuous process – and at the same time a topic that goes far beyond individual companies.”
With this recognition, retailsolutions is encouraged to continue actively contributing to addressing the skills shortage and to helping shape a welcoming culture in Saarland.
